"The Bowery Bunch"
OUR MISSION
​
We are united in the belief that there is no greater cause than that of a child. "Glory Be To Kids" strives to make a difference in the lives of children in need.
By combining our love of children with our love of sports, funds are raised through various events.
Each year a different local children's charity is chosen as a primary beneficiary and all money raised is donated.
OUR JOURNEY
In 1981, a recreational women’s softball team lost a teammate when she was tragically killed in a car accident. Gloria Doody was 25 and left behind a 5-year-old son, Christopher.
Her teammates, most being mothers themselves, could not stand to think of Christopher growing up without his mother and wanted to help in the one way they knew how -- softball.
That summer, "The Bowery Bunch" held a softball tournament. 12 teams competed for the championship and $1,000 was raised to start a trust fund for Christopher.
What began to honor the memory of one friend and to help one child, today, Glory Be to Kids is a celebration of ALL children, of community and of friendships.
